TDP wins Tirupati Dy Mayor's Post Amid High Drama

Vijayawada: Amid high-voltage drama, TDP-led NDA alliance emerged victorious in the Deputy Mayor by-polls held for Tirupati Municipal Corporation on Tuesday.

After the TDP and its arch-rival YSRCP kept their corporators and supporters in different camps, the election originally slated on the Sri Venkateswara University administrative block on Monday was put off to Tuesday for want of quorum. Amid allegations of poaching, intimidation, inducement and blackmailing, TDP corporator from 35th word R.C. Munikrishna was declared winner by 26 votes.
